Corridor coffee opens on Grand Rapids' Westside

​Whether it be coffee, wine, tea or all things culinary, Corridor Coffee’s owners, Max & Melissa, are pursuers of quality.

We bought this building, researched its history and developed the Corridor brand because we plan to be 'all-in' invested in the West Side for the long-term. Corridor will be a microcosm of what is happening on the West Side today - reinvestment & reinvigoration in the most happening side of town.  It is critical to us that our customers and community have a consistently positive experience. We feel at home on the West Side, and Corridor is part of our home.” ​

Westsiders are notoriously proud of their neighborhood. And rightfully so. Originally separated from downtown by the Grand River, the West Side developed its own independent character. Its energy and inspiration came from the immigrants who arrived in the 19th and 20th centuries, first the Irish, Germans, Poles, Lithuanians, and Dutch and, more recently, a growing Latino population.

The West Side’s past centered around wood products, factories, and churches, and its future is being built today by its residents and the many businesses that are the life blood of Grand Rapids' Westside.

The juxtaposition of a new business in an old building is actually comforting and casual. With it's original hardwood floors and simple lighting fixtures, clean white walls, and warm lighting the cafe creates something halfway between modern and familiar, making you feel at home.
